Counsel by Al-‘Allamah Al-Habib ‘Umar Bin Hafidz for the month of Rabi Ath-thani 1439H.

‎✍🏼 دعا العلامة الحبيب عمر بن حفيظ في كلمته لشهر ربيع الثاني إلى أن نُقَوِّمَ أمرَين عظيمَين مما دعانا إليهما الحقُّ ورسولُه صلى الله عليه وعلى آله وصحبه وسلم:

Al-‘Allamah Al-Habib Umar in his counsel for the month of Rabiulakhir exhorts the performance of 2 important matters which Allah and His Messenger ﷺ also called to.

They are:

‎       1⃣ الأمر الأول: إفشاءُ السَّلام، بمعانيهِ وواسعِ دلالاتِه.
‎        ومنها: الاعتناءُ بالبدءِ بالسلامِ لِكُلِّ مَن يُلاقى، والاعتناءُ بكتبِ السلام في كل رسالةٍ تُرْسَلُ عبر جوَّالنا وأي جهاز مِن أجهزة التواصل، أو أي ورقة تُكتب، أو أي وسيلة يُتَوَّصَلُ بها الكلام إلى أي مسلم في الأرض.

One: Spreading salam with a wholesome appreciation of its various meanings and the extensive span of its representations.

This includes giving pertinence to initiating the salam (greetings) to anyone we meet.

To give attention to the (proper) writing of salam in all messages delivered by handphones or other forms of gadgets including handwritten letters or any means of communication used to communicate with Muslims from various parts of the world.

‎        وفي إحياء هذه السنة نرمي إلى إحياءِ حقيقةِ هذا التآلفِ القلبي والتَحابُب الذي أشار صلى الله عليه وسلم بقوله: ( ألا أدلُّكم على شيء إذا فعلتموه تحاببتم؟ أفشوا السلام بينكم )  نتعرَّض بذلك لمحبةِ الله والسعيِ في جمعِ شملِ المسلمين.

In enlivening this sunnah, we seek to establish bonds between hearts and love for one another as indicated by the Messenger ﷺ: “Don’t you want me to show you an act if performed, will create love for one another? Spread salam amongst you.” By doing this, we stand to attain Allah’s love and enjoin Muslims towards unity.

‎         2⃣ والأمرُ الثاني عظيم مهمٌ في حياة المؤمنين، وقد انتشر التقصير فيه عند الأكثر منهم، وذلك: السَّجداتُ في ظلام الليل، وكثرةُ الإلحاح على الله والدعاء عموما وخصوصا في جمعِ شملِ المسمين وصلاحِ شأنهم ودفعِ الآفات عنهم، ونصرِ الحقِّ بهم، ونصرِهم بالحق والهدى.

Two: This is more important to lives of every Believer. Indeed, there has been an increasing disregard of it amongst most of them. It refers to the frequenting of one’s prostration in the darkness of night, to converse to Allah and praying both generally and specifically for the unification of Muslims, for the uplifting of their conditions, for mishaps and tragedies to not befall them and for Allah to assist them and for them to assist with truth and guidance.

‎         ✅ فنحبُّ من جميع أحبابنا أن يكون لهم اعتناءٌ بهذا العمل؛ بأن يكون لهم ولو يسير من الركعات في ظلمة الليل عند غفلةِ الناس، وأن يكونوا في سجداتهم ملحين على الله تعالى في صلاح شؤون الأمة وأحوالِها.

As such, we would greatly appreciate it if all of our beloved can pay attention to this even (if it means) performing a few rakaats at night when most mankind are at their most negligent. And that they seek earnestly from Allah in their prostrations for all aspects of the ummah to be enhanced.

‎      🔗 أعاننا الله وإياكم على القيام بهذين الأمرين، وثبَّتهما في حياتنا وحياة أهالينا، ورزقَنا تعليمَهما لأبنائنا وبناتنا ولأصحابنا وقراباتنا.

May Allah assist us and yourselves in performing these two matters and making them established in our lives and that of our families and also enabling us to impart them to our children, friends and kins.
