Alhamdulillah. By the Mercy and Grace of Allah, we are now in Rajab Al-Khair.
The Messenger of Allāh ﷺ himself would venerate Rajab when it entered by saying:
اللَّهُمَّ بَارِكْ لَنَا في رَجَبٍ وَ شَعْبَانَ وَ بَلِّغْنا رَمَضَانَ
Transliteration: “Allahumma baarik lanaa fi Rajab wa Sha`bān wa balighnaa Ramaḍān”
Translation: “O Allah bless us in Rajab and Sha`ban and enable us to reach Ramadan!”
In Tarim, the following formula is read 70 times in congregation immediately after the `Isha Prayer every night in Raja, hands raised whilst doing so:
رَبِّ اغْفِرْ لي وارْحَمْنِي وَتُبْ عَلَيَّ
Transliteration: “Rabbi ‘ghfir lī w’ arhamnī wa tub `alayya.”
Translation: “Oh Allah forgive me, have mercy upon me, and grant me repentance.”
This used to be the practice at several mosques in Singapore as well. May Allah help us rekindle this practice.
