Diantara kewajipan ulama’ serta ilmuan dari para pemerintah dan yang memegang urusan ilmu dan agama; hendaklah meletakkan amanah pada tempatnya dengan berusaha sedaya mungkin untuk mengembalikan ikatan keimanan diantara aliran-aliran, jemaah-jemaah, kumpulan-kumpulan dan puak-puak atas dasar prinsip yang disepakati bersama.
– Habib Abu Bakr Al-Adniy bin Ali Al-Masyhur:
Sayyidil Habib Abu Bakr Al-Adniy bin Ali Al-Masyhur says:
One is not a true seeker of knowledge if one doesn’t have an a routine of tasks (wazifah pl. wazaif) allocated for his time. Know that such a person (who doesn’t have wazaif) is not a true seeker of knowledge. If we plan our tasks well, we will reap the fruits of our labour and know that the greatest of times is the last part of the night. Ask yourselves about your conditions at the end of the night? At this time there is a special gift, a special gaze (nazr), a special merit to be granted; so be from among the special people to Allah s.w.t (ahl al-khususiyyah) and preserve your remembrances (zikr pl. azkar) and your mandatory duties (wird pl. awrad).
Any scholar or seeker of knowledge who doesn’t guard his tongue, protect his heart, and preserve his limbs would have betrayed the knowledge (acquired) and will not attain what those who ascend in knowledge attain – Sayyidil Habib Abu Bakr Al-Adniy bin Ali Al-Masyhur
Jalan yang benar (sebagai garis panduan) bagi orang yang mengikuti mana-mana aliran yang benar ialah mengakui bahawa kewujudan aliran-aliran yang lain adalah sebuah fenomena yang sihat di dalam Syari’ah, dan sebuah fenomena yang menunjukkan keluasan dan keagungan Syari’ah itu sendiri. Maka usahlah hal sedemikian membawa kepada perselisihan faham, saling menjauhkan diri, saling benci-membenci, bersikap keras serta mencabuli hak orang lain.

Sayyidil Habib Umar bin Hafiz says:
The proper conduct in adopting a religious path, among any of the accepted paths in the religion, is to know that the existence of other paths manifests the soundness of the sacred law, its vastness, and loftiness. Hence, do not let it be a means for dispute, estrangement, hatred, harshness nor abuse of anyone in order to preserve the honour of another.
From the words of Sayyidil Habib Umar Bin Hafiz:
“Should you hear abusive words, from various sources, being hurled at you, your friends, or your teachers, look at what Allah says about being in receipt of such abuse and the positive outcomes (of bearing with it) – do not accept it without considering what the prophets have said to their people:
{ ولنصبرنَّ على ما آذيتمونا }
And we shall certainly bear with patience all the hurt you may cause us
[Surat Ibrahim 12]
So do not curse when they curse, do not insult when they insult rather, attend to their curses and their insults with good manners and hope in Allah, and with that, calling them to Allah.”

💬 الحبيب عمر بن حفيظ – Habib Omar:
✨ إذا سمعتم أذى من هنا أو من هناك
[ عنكم أو عن أصحابكم أو عن شيوخكم ] فانظروا ما قال الله تعالى في مقابلة هذا الأذى ونتائج هذا الأذى ولا تقابلوه إلا بما قال الرسل لأقوامهم
{ ولنصبرنَّ على ما آذيتمونا }
لا تسبُّوا وإن سَبّوا ؛ لا تُؤذوا وإن آذوا ؛ وقابِلُوا سبَّهم وأذاهم بأدبِكم مع الله، وبرجائكم في الله، وبدعوتهم إلى الله تعالى.✨
من وصايا الحبيب عمر في مجلس توديع طلاب الدورة الثانية والعشرين.

Al-Habib Umar bin Hafiz berkata:
“Jika kamu terdengar orang yg menyakiti diri kamu, sahabat mahupun guru-guru kamu dari segenap arah, maka perhatikanlah apa yang Allah firmankan sebagai cara membalasnya dan natijah daripada mengikuti firman Allah ini.
Maka janganlah dibalas kecuali dengan mengungkapkan apa yang dikatakan para Rasul berkata kepada kaum mereka:
“Maka kami pasti akan bersabar dengan gangguan kamu terhadap kami”
[Surah Ibrahim 12]
Janganlah hendaknya cacian dibalas dengan cacian, janganlah menyakiti meskipun disakiti, balaslah cacian serta gangguan mereka dengan adab kamu dengan Allah beserta pengharapan kamu kepada Allah dan dengan berdakwah kepada mereka.”
Dari wasiat Al-Habib Umar di majlis perpisahan pelajar-pelajar daurah yg ke-22.
