WHAT DOES ONE DO WHEN ONE LIVES IN A PLACE AND TIME, LIKE THE ONE WE LIVE IN TODAY, WHERE MURABBIS ARE DIFFICULT TO COME BY?
Sayyidina al-Imam al-Arif Billah Abdul Rahman bin Mustafa Al-Aydarus – may Allah benefit us by him – says: Indeed the murabbiyyun (guiding teachers) have all but disappeared at the end of times and the seeker does not arrive at ma’rifah (intimate knowledge) of Allah except by sending much salutations upon the Prophet ﷺ. In accumulating one’s (good) deeds; some are accepted and some are rejected except for the salutations sent upon the Prophet ﷺ – all of it is unconditionally accepted as it as an honour for him ﷺ (and not necessarily for the person making the salutation).
