Doa Surah Al-Mulk
by Al-Habib Abu Bakar bin Ali Al-Masyhur
(to be read after the recitation of Sūrah al-Mulk as part of one’s daily litany)
O Allāh, You are our Lord and The Lord of the Worlds.
All praise be to Allāh, Lord of the Worlds. The Most Compassionate, The Most Beneficent. King of The Day of Judgement. Only You we worship, and Only You we seek help. Guide us to the Straight Path. The path of those whom You have given ni’mah, not those whom are the object of (Your) anger, and not those who are astray. [Al-Fatihah: 2-7]
O Allāh, O The Most Generous, O The Most Beneficent, O the One who has Power over all things, to Him is the maśīr (eventual destination), and with His servants He is khabīr (all informed) and baśīr (all seeing). Gift us from the greatness of Your bequest. Honour us with what is in Sūrah al-Mulk from khaśāiś (distinctions), barakāt (blessings), ‘aţāya (bequests), and hibāt (gifts), and honour us with the honour of meanings which are śalihāt (righteous) in the hurūfs (letters) of the Ayāt (Verses), and the raqm (marking) and the rasm (writing) of the Kalimāt (Words); what You bestow us by it the admission as Your righteous slaves, and You render us by it to be worthy of safety in the two abodes, security of the worlds, eminence of the two hours, protection from evil beings and devils, judicial authorities and rulers, and the corrupt evildoers.
We have indeed beautified the skies of the dunyā with its lamps and We have made them for casting at the devils. [Al-Mulk: 5]
O Allāh, O Allāh, O Bestower of sam’ (hearing) and baśar (seeing), Executor of Qadhā’ and Qadar (divine decree), the One who causes the water to gush forth from the hajar (stone); make firm my intellect, hearing, and seeing until I acquaint myself by virtue of the honour of connection to You, and aid me to have remembrance of You, to be Grateful to You, and have excellence in worship of You. Fill my jawāriĥ (limbs) and the atoms of my jawāniĥ (ribs of the breast) with the adab (good manners) of khashyah (reverential fear), khudhū’ (submission), and źillah (lowliness) before You.
Indeed, those who have khashyah of their Lord unseen, for them is forgiveness and a great reward. [Al-Mulk: 12]
O Allah, O The Most High, O The Most Great, O The Most Knowing, O The Most Able, O The Most Hearing, O The Most Seeing, embrace us with Your everlasting embrace; protect us by the secret of Your Names and Your Attributes that are Khāśśah (Distinct) and ‘Āmmah (Encompassing), from the shaitān (Devil) and lāmmah (the evil eye).
Does He who created not know, while He is al-Latīf (Most Subtle) al-Khabīr (Most Informed). [Al-Mulk: 14]
O The Most Subtle, O The Most Informed; make Sūrah al-Mulk a savior for Your Slave from the torment of the qabr (grave) and the darkness of the wizr (sins), and a cleanser for the qalb (heart) and the śadr (chest) for the slave does not know anything of his concealed affairs in sirr (privately) and jahr (publicly).
Say that the knowledge is surely with Allāh, and I am surely a manifest warner. [Al-Mulk: 26]
O Allah, by the manifest warner whom You sent as a mercy to the worlds, our master Muhammad bin ‘Abdullah, the Imām of the People of Yaqīn (certainty) and Tamkīn (firmly established), make us righteous, and establish righteousness through us, and grant us safety and pardon, and record us in the register of Your slaves who have taqwa (piety), those whom no fear is upon them nor do they grieve.
Say He is the Most Compassionate, we believe in Him, and to Him we place our trust. [Al-Mulk: 29]
And to Him we return to in repentance, with Him we overcome, by His Mercy we seek aid, and from His Torment we seek refuge, and with His Names and Attributes we seek an intercession; so rectify for us, O Allah, in all our affairs, by Your Mercy, O The Most Merciful of all who have mercy. May the salutations of Allah and His peace be upon our master Muhammad, his progeny, and his companions.
